Leipziger Messe and GIT VERLAG, A Wiley Company proudly announce the inception of the L.A.B Award 2009.

With the L.A.B. Award both partners would like to support the young academics community by providing successful and upcoming researchers with the opportunity to portray their work at a scientific conference as well as within a well-reputed journal. The top three authors will be invited to give a 30 min talk at the L.A.B. 2009 conference and trade fair in Birmingham, 27-29th October. Furthermore articles of the awarded contributions will be published in either G.I.T. Laboratory Journal Europe or BIOforum Europe of GIT VERLAG. The 10 runner-ups are very welcome to present their projects within a special poster session at the L.A.B. 2009.

To take part in this competition, all PhD students who have already completed their first year of graduation in chemical, pharmaceutical, physical, or life science research are qualified. Submitted entries – extended abstracts – should not exceed 4,000 characters (including blanks) and four illustrations or tables, respectively. A jury, consisting of well reputed scientists and members of the editorial team from GIT VERLAG will select the winners by evaluating scientific information value, innovation, actuality, and originality.

As a special motivation for participants, the first prize will additionally be honoured with a weekend trip either to London or Berlin.

Deadline for contribution submission is August 15th, 2009
