Lab Safety Training Programs

A laboratory can be a dangerous place. With the increasing complexity of the equipment and experimental practices, employees need a greater knowledge of safety practices and procedures than they may have had in the past.

The modules review the OSHA regulations and use a combination of audio, full-motion live video action, text and colorful graphics to teach good safety practices relevant to laboratory environments. They are suitable for both individual self-paced training, where the trainees are quizzed as they progress through the course, and also for instructor-led group presentations. To suit the particular needs of different organizations, these courses are offered in a variety of formats:

• Interactive computer-based training programs on CD
• Videos in VHS tape format or DVD
• On-line e-Learning
• Networks (LANs) for simultaneous use by multiple trainees
• Intranet and Learning Management Systems (including SCORM-conformant)

Each 45-minute course is divided into logical sections so that the information is easily understood and retained. The software platform enables trainer/managers to establish log-in procedures, define the curriculum, set up tests and generate progress reports.
