uvCAB - UV Sterilization Cabinets from Cleaver Scientific

4 Oct 2006

Offering the benefit of a clean room within your own laboratory for easy access and convenience, the Cleaver Scientific UV Sterilisation Cabinets provide a convenient area for setting up PCR reactions in a nucleic acid free environment thus limiting PCR reaction contamination.

Acting effectively as a low cost alternative to a clean room, the powerful UV lights on the cabinets denature nucleic acids in 5 to 30 minutes making them unsuitable for amplification and contamination of PCR reactions.

The cabinet incorporates safety features to prevent user exposure to UV light.

The UV lights themselves are timer controlled and there are safety switches on the cabinets doors which turn off the UV lights when opened.

The cabinets also act as an efficient shield of beta radioactive emissions and can therefore be safely used with isotopes such as 32P.

The cabinets include a white light which provides excellent visibility when working within the cabinets.

Two sizes of cabinet are available.

The Maxi cabinet comes complete with four powerful timer controlled UV bulbs.

With a large working space of 660 x 560 x 420mm (H x W x D), it offers a good sized cabinet for setting up and also storage of PCR reactions and the pipettes, racks and other equipment used in their PCR reaction set up

For laboratories with limited space and budget, the Mini Cabinet is ideal. It contains two timer controlled UV bulbs and has dimensions of 400 x 560 x 350mm (H x W x D)

Compatible safety trays with disposable liners for use with both cabinets are also available from Cleaver Scientific.
