LGC Biosearch Technologies launches Amp-Seq One
Amp-Seq One offers reduced hands-on time and doubled throughput
5 Nov 2024LGC Biosearch Technologies has developed Amp-Seq One, a one-step amplicon sequencing workflow that promises to be as fast as end-point genotyping with the total protocol turnaround time of just 120 minutes with only 50 minutes of PCR cycling, while retaining compatibility with screening thousands of markers per reaction. Additionally, Amp-Seq One eliminates the requirement for liquid handling equipment to transfer material between reaction stages.
The protocol halves the hands-on laboratory time, minimizes consumable use and lowers the risk of sample cross-contamination all while maximizing workflow automation and doubling throughput.
Amp-Seq One is a customized panel kit that is created in collaboration with agriculture laboratories to meet their breeders specific genotyping goals and will be commercially available in the first half of 2025. This workflow has been designed to accelerate breeding programmes and adds to LGC Biosearch Technologies’ extensive portfolio of genotyping tools.
Joris Parmentier, Associate Portfolio Director commented, “This ultra efficient approach uses room temperature stable reagents, cuts library preparation time to an industry leading 120 minutes and enables same-day progression from DNA sample to library creation and sequencing. Results to-date demonstrate the ability to target thousands of SNPs in a single reaction making it, a game changer in industrial genotyping for commercial breeding companies. The workflow can be further enhanced by using sbeadex™ Lightning that purifies DNA in under 5 minutes.”
