Markes International’s operations at its UK headquarters in Llantrisant, near Cardiff, are set to expand still further with the acquisition of another building.

The new building, which is adjacent to the company’s existing manufacturing facility and Technical Centre, comprises nearly 3000 square feet of office space, which initially will be allocated to the company’s expanding Engineering operations. This news comes as the company looks to further its success in the export market, having won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in April.

“The new accommodation will not only give us room for growth but will allow us to reconfigure the business operationally, moving different departments around within the various buildings and floors,” explains Alun Cole, Managing Director of Markes International. “Since we located at Gwaun Elai in 2006, we’ve benefited from a number of advantages including close proximity to the M4 and other link roads. These have opened up the employment pool available to us, as well as supporting our requirement for fast distribution.”
