Metrohm’s New 875 KF Gas Analyzer: Straightforward Water Analysis in Liquefied Gases

9 Jan 2013

Metrohm have released the 875 KF Gas Analyzer, which can be used as a fully automatic determination method for water content in liquefied gases. It’s robust construction, ease of operation by way of tiamo™ control and database software, and the strict separation of the gas-carrying system and the electronic area, mean as a Gas Analyzer the 875 KF excels.

In the new 875 KF Gas Analyzer, Metrohm combines decades of experience in process analysis and in Karl Fischer titration. Because of the Karl Fischer coulometer used here, reliable and accurate detection of water right down to trace levels is possible.

The system is designed for a maximum pressure of 40 bar. Apart from having an integral evaporator for liquefied gases, the 875 KF Gas Analyzer is also equipped with an inlet filter to separate out particles and with an oil filter. A mass flow controller provides precise measurement of the gas flow. Magnetic valves controlled by the software ensure a fully automated measuring procedure.

The 875 KF Gas Analyzer is supplied with predefined software methods, so a customer can start measuring immediately after installation. Typical examples of applications are the measurement of the water content in propane, propene, LPG, butane, butene, ethylene oxide and dimethyl ether. In addition, water determination in permanent gases and other liquefied gases is also possible.
