The new, robust P-56 and P-58 printers guarantee crispy printouts both on paper and self-adhesive labels thanks to thermal direct printing technology. Meeting GMP/ISO traceability requirements is assured through the built-in real-time clock, and printing individual labels with detailed sample information and barcodes makes sample identification easy and error-free. With a multilingual user interface and several connectivity options, users can simply plug-in and start printing.

“Documenting laboratory results and labeling samples accurately is as critical as obtaining the correct result, and regulatory bodies have become stricter when it comes to results traceability and compliance,” says Isabelle Senn, Product Manager at METTER TOLEDO. “Our P-56 and P-58 printers address the documentation challenges our customers face under ever-increasing demands for accurate results, guaranteed traceability and higher productivity.”

Straightforward operation
Thermal printing is a fast, nearly inaudible, and clean technology – there are no ink cartridges or ribbons to change, just the special printing paper. Changing a roll or switching between paper and self-adhesive labels is an easy, one-step procedure. Conditions such as low paper supply generate timely alerts on the printer display so work can continue without interruption.

Perfect printouts
All thermal paper and labels supplied by METTLER TOLEDO are phenol-free, in addition labels are resistant to plasticizers, oil, fat and water. Under proper storage conditions, the paper printouts last for up to 25 years, with labels lasting up to 10. The thermal printing technology is particularly advantageous for use with barcode applications, producing a sharp-edged printout which is very scanner-friendly.

Rugged mechanics
These printers are robustly built for long service life, with metal housings that are chemical-resistant and easily cleanable. With a static print head, printer operation is vibration-free – important in a laboratory environment with highly sensitive instruments in operation nearby.

Connectivity and convenience
Both printer models incorporate RS232, USB, and Ethernet interfaces, with a Bluetooth wireless option so it’s easy to just plug in, power up and start printing. With the possibility to enter sample IDs, and built-in applications such as totaling, formulation and statistics, the P-58 is not only convenient in its own right but is also a cost-effective way to upgrade the functionality and GMP/ISO compliance of older or less-capable laboratory instruments.
