Millipore’s New BioPak™ Cartridge Easily Produces Pyrogen and Nuclease-free Water

1 Feb 2006

Millipore today announced the availability of the new BioPak disposable ultrafiltration cartridge to dispense ultrapure water for up to three months without a loss of flow rate. The cartridge connects to the outlet of any Milli-Q®, Direct-Q® or Synergy® water purification system as a final purification step.

Typically, BioPak cartridges are used in cell culture, biochemistry or molecular biology applications. The cartridge has been validated in Millipore laboratories to warrant the production of pyrogen-free (< 0.001 Eu/mL) RNase free (< 0.01 ng/mL ) and DNase-free (< 4 pg/µL ) ultrapure water, while maintaining both the resistivity and total organic carbon (TOC) of the treated water.

The BioPak cartridges increase efficiency and optimize performance for researchers. Previous offerings either required regular sanitization or compromised flow rates. Additionally, it replaces the lengthy DEPC treatment process to remove nucleases from purified water.

Millipore’s Bioscience division delivers complete solutions and services for pharmaceutical, academic, life science, clinical and government research laboratories.
