Hamamatsu Photonics introduce the C10082CAH and C10083CAH TM spectrometers. These new TM spectrometer modules utilise a transmission grating and the same high sensitivity back thinned CCDs utilised in the previous spectrometer units released in 2006.

The CAH series feature a higher resolution of around 1 nm, extending the range of applications for which these miniature spectrometers can be used. The C10082CAH is optimised for UV-VIS operation and works in the 200 nm to 800 nm waveband where as the C10083CAH operates from 320 to 1000 nm.

All of these modules consist of a palm-top size polychromator integrated with optical elements, a back thinned CCD optimised for the required wavelength range, together with an image sensor driver circuit. The standard spectrometer module also includes an integrated USB interface to allow simple PC connection and data acquisition. The device is supplied with sample software, which allows the user to set measurement conditions, acquire and save data and display it graphically, thus making it quick and easy to start taking basic spectral measurements.

These new miniature spectrometer modules from Hamamatsu are ideal for applications such as UV-VIS spectrometry, luminescence and fluorescence measurements, life science, DNA analysis, medical diagnostics, precision colour measurement, environmental analysis, in-line product inspection and many more.
