A new, easy-to-use dual trait ELISA validated to confirm the absence or presence of Bt-Cry1F and Bt-Cry34Ab1 proteins expressed in HERCULEX® XTRA seed corn has now been commercialized by Agdia, Inc. Capable of detecting both analytes in the same test well, this new dual-protein ELISA significantly reduces labor and cost. A typical single-trait ELISA test takes approximately two hours, including preparation time. The Bt-Cry1F & Bt-Cry34Ab1 Dual Trait ELISA for both traits has the approximate completion time as a single trait assay.

The is a unique enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), as it employs two specific antibodies, one for Cry1F and one for Cry34Ab1 allowing for the detection of two traits in a single test well. Typically, ELISA assays only allow for one detection per well. This dual detection is accomplished by the coating of two antibodies per well and by employing two specific color indicating substrates.

The Agdia Bt-Cry1F & Bt-Cry34Ab1 dual-trait ELISA is a complete kit, including specially coated ELISA plates, enzyme conjugate, positive controls, extraction and wash buffers. As with all Agdia agricultural diagnostic solutions, this dual-trait ELISA is backed by an extremely knowledgeable technical support team.

A leading provider of agricultural diagnostic tests and services, Agdia has been serving plant breeders, universities, and private testing laboratories since 1981. The company offers a comprehensive portfolio of validated, easy-to-use diagnostic tests as well as in-house testing services for identifying GMO/traits and detecting plant pathogens.
