New Cole-Parmer Overhead Mixers blend accuracy with durability for reliable stirring and mixing
New overhead mixers enable smooth and precise large batch mixing
21 Jan 2022The thoughtful design of the new Cole-Parmer® Overhead Mixers provides operators with a full breadth of features for smooth and precise large batch mixing including accurate and dependable motor speed control, various models and features for specific mixing needs, easy maintenance, and safety features to keep the operator and the mixer safe while in use. Users will also appreciate the virtually maintenance-free design with no wear parts that require servicing. These mixers are ideal for use in the laboratory or manufacturing process.
Three models are available, each designed with its own unique features to meet a variety of mixing needs and budgets:
- Cole-Parmer SD Laboratory Overhead Mixer rotates at 50 to 2500 rpm with a maximum torque of 91 in-oz (64 N·cm) and has a through-shaft capability. The precision digital controller is used to turn on and set the speed, timer, direction of rotation, and torque limits for the mixer motor
- Cole-Parmer SP Laboratory Overhead Mixer rotates at 50 to 2500 rpm with a maximum torque of 91 in-oz (64 N·cm) and has a through-shaft capability. The variable-speed controller is used to turn on and set the speed and direction of the mixer motor.
- Cole-Parmer GP Laboratory Overhead Mixer rotates at 40 to 4000 rpm with a maximum torque of 9.5 in-oz (6.7 N·cm). The speed control knob is used to turn on and set the speed of the mixer motor and provides a 100:1 adjustment range. Ideal for light-duty mixing of water-like fluids.
All mixers include the “soft-start” feature and smooth, gradual adjustment to the speed setting. Constant speed is maintained electronically via automatic compensation for changes in load torque demands at both high and low speeds. The built-in motor current compensation minimizes speed drift with changes in load. Motor current limiting protects the system in case of a locked rotor condition. Output circuit protection protects against inadvertent output shorting.
