Randox presents a new liquid cardiac control from the Acusera range. This control contains assayed target values and ranges for 10 cardiac markers including BNP, NTProBNP, D-dimer, Homocysteine, Troponin I, Troponin T, Digoxin, CK-MB, hsCRP and Myoglobin. The inclusion of parameters such as D-dimer, BNP and Homocysteine in a single control material allows for effective consolidation and flexibility.

As a liquid stable ready to use control it is ideal for use not only in clinical laboratories but also in point of care testing (POCT). Very little training is required as there is no need for reconstitution/dilution; this reduces the risk of costly pipetting errors and saves precious laboratory time. Convenient storage at +2-8oC means the control can be assessed immediately without the need to thaw before use, this is extremely important for a cardiac control especially in POC testing.

The liquid cardiac control from Randox is also extremely cost effective; it has an extended open vial stability of 30 days at +2-8oC which ultimately minimises wastage.

Three levels are available in flexible pack sizes (3 x1ml or 3 x 3ml) spanning the complete clinical range. The control is designed to monitor low Troponin levels with levels in the level 1 control around 0.15ng/ml for Troponin I and 0.12ng/ml for Troponin T. Such low levels eliminate the need for a separate Troponin control.

As with many other Randox controls the liquid cardiac control is 100% human in origin and can be described as a true third party control suitable for use on a wide range of clinical and immunoassay analysers.

With nearly 30 years experience in clinical diagnostics, Randox understand the importance of laboratory quality, so every control we manufacture is to the highest standard. In addition to our extensive range of quality control materials Randox also provide 24/7 an internet driven peer group reporting system and RIQAS, the world’s largest global EQA scheme.
