New dimension in automation of nucleic acid purification and molecular diagnostics

15 Aug 2007

Invitek Biotechnolgy & Biodesign Ltd. announces the introduction of a new generation of superparamagnetic nanoparticles for nucleic acid isolation (InviMag® nano). In cooperation with the Chinese company Allrun Nano Science & Technology CO., Ltd.

Invitek will adapt and extend its product portfolio for manual and fully automated magnetic extraction of nucleic acids during autumn 2007. The high-performance paramagnetic nanobeads with a controlled surface featuring various functionalities are applicable for efficient isolation of high-quality DNA and RNA ready to use in downstream applications and accommodate a wide range of species and sample types. In addition, they feature a uniform small size (~ 200 nm), large active surface and high paramagnetic content (70 - 90% of iron oxides). In suspension the beads show great advantages for automated nucleic acid extraction and are therefore highly suitable for high-throughput processing.

Within the exhibition Biotechnica 2007 in Hannover, Germany, 9.-11. October, Invitek will present the superparamagnetic nanobeads InviMag® nano (Hall 09, Booth E06/01) for the first time.
