New humidified microarrayer enclosure offers unique control

21 Feb 2006

Genetix Ltd. (New Milton, UK), a leader in microarray instrumentation, has announced the introduction of a new humidified enclosure for the plate stacker of its high throughput QArray2 microarrayer.

This new development adds a unique level of flexibility for users as it allows the control of humidity in the plate stacker independently of the robot bed. Optimum humidity levels can be achieved in both areas, improving consistency between spotted samples.

In addition, the new enclosure allows high levels of humidity to be generated in the plate stacker, reducing evaporation from the lidded source plates and helping to maintain the integrity of samples in the microplate wells.

The Genetix QArray2 is a high throughput microarrayer for DNA and protein printing applications, with options available for printing onto slides or into the wells of microplates. The plate stacker can hold up to 70 lidded low-profile source microplates, with automated lid removal and replacement.
