Malvern Instruments has extended the rheology resources available on the company’s website with the addition of a new FAQ section designed to help both new and existing customers optimize their use of capillary rheometers. Questions covering basic and advanced features as well as applications of capillary rheometry are answered clearly and concisely.

The FAQ section includes details of the way a capillary rheometer works, the types of sample that can be analyzed and how to configure a system for optimum performance. Issues connected with the measurement of different parameters and the practical applications of measured data are also addressed.

Capillary rheometers are highly valuable for simulating high shear rate conditions. Conventionally they are associated with polymer processing applications but are used increasingly in the paints and inks, food, ceramics and personal care sectors. Malvern supplies both floor-standing and bench top systems, meeting all user requirements from research applications to more routine testing.
