With the launch of a number of new illuminators and focusing units, scope for the Nikon LV Series of industrial microscopes to be customised for use within OEM applications has been increased significantly.

This means even more demanding applications can benefit from the use of the LV Series acclaimed CFI60 optics, that deliver an enhanced overall optical performance and even sharper images for all the major illumination techniques.

Two new sets of modular focusing units have been introduced, both available as manual and automated options. In standard configurations, these offer vertical strokes of 20mm and 30mm (automatic / manual), but when used in combination with a new Episcopic base, this can be extended to 68mm, making it an ideal solution for semiconductor probe inspection. To control the motorised focusing modules, Nikon has also introduced a new dedicated controller.

In addition to the focusing modules, the new introductions also include: a new epi-illuminator, with a motorised changeover turret, aperture diaphragm and illumination (brightness / intensity) control for accurate and consistent illumination; a white light LED illuminator, specifically developed for bright field work; a modularised arm; a polarising/analysing cube; and a new nosepiece, with centering mechanism to minimise image shift during objective changeover.
