The new RC620+ from EPSON Robots is capable of controlling up to 4 SCARA robots, 3 Six Axis robots or 2 SCARA and 2 Six Axis robots. This is EPSON’s 4th generation open architecture PC based workcell controller and allows 20 axes of motion from one controller.

"The RC620+ adds to EPSON’s initiative of providing our customers with more Power of Choice than ever before” stated Michael Ferrara, Director of EPSON Robots. “It is the controller of choice for those applications that require a powerful open architecture solution for system expansion and advanced motion and I/O control for demanding applications. With over 10 years of PC based controller experience, EPSON has combined industry leading PC based controls with superior real time motion and I/O control to provide advanced motion control and open architecture expandability all from the same controller.”

3 PCI slots are available for options such as Vision Systems, Fieldbus masters or third party plug-in cards to expand the RC620+ controller as needed for particular applications. The RC620+ runs a separate CPU dedicated to motion control and real time options including additional I/O, conveyor tracking, expansion I/O and DeviceNet, Profibus and EtherNet/IP Fieldbus slave options. This gives users the best of both worlds with the open architecture, ease of use and expandability of Microsoft Windows while also providing real time performance for time critical components such as motion and I/O control.

In addition to all of these great features, the RC620+ controller also provides our industry leading EPSON RC+ Controls software. At the heart of EPSON RC+ is EPSON’s Real Time Engine, capable of controlling up to 48 simultaneous tasks. Add to that the robust SPEL+ Language and superior motion and I/O control and you’ve got a powerful controller capable of handling the demands of even the most difficult applications. EPSON RC+ is the preferred control environment for both beginners and seasoned professionals alike. It excels in the areas of power, flexibility as well as expandability required for today’s robot workcells while maintaining the ease of use and reliability EPSON Robots and Controls are famous for. Why choose a low performance solution when you can have the high performance EPSON RC620+ PC Based, Open Architecture Workcell Controller?
