Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc.'s new software for the ProteOn™ XPR36 protein interaction array system, ProteOn Manager software 3.0, enhances researchers' ability to analyze protein interactions using surface plasmon resonance (SPR). This new software streamlines experimental set up and data analysis with new features that make the ProteOn system easier to use with reduced hands-on time. This version is a free upgrade for ProteOn system customers.

Two new features of the software, Automated Protocol Creation and Protocol Check Quick View, reduce experiment set up time. ProteOn Manager Software 3.0 automatically creates a protocol as researchers import their sample data layout. Researchers can then quickly review all sample and injection parameters in one easy-to-customize table view.

"Bio-Rad's ProteOn has been invaluable in generating kinetic parameters to help us study all sorts of protein interactions," said Marco Gobbi, Laboratory Head at the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research in Milano, Italy. "The software enhancements take a great instrument and make it even easier to use."

Data analysis is made simpler with ProteOn Manager software 3.0. Users can customize results tables and select only the fields they want to view. Reports are equally customizable so that only essential data and sensorgrams may be printed.

Additional features and benefits of the ProteOn Manager software 3.0 include:

Off-rate only kinetic analysis — allows kinetic data to be determined independent of analyte concentration
Location independent double reference — gives researchers the flexibility to choose multiple reference locations in a single experiment increasing data quality and experimental flexibility
Cleaning wizard — automatically prompts and guides users through a post-experiment cleanup procedure to ensure optimum performance every run
