New RC1su Workstations Reduce Consumption of Reagents and Solvents
1 Dec 2010The RC1su Scale-up Workstation from METTLER TOLEDO is a semi-automated workstation designed to improve productivity and reliability in process development.
Development and scaling of chemical processes requires profound knowledge of the individual processes and all parameters involved. Unlike standard technologies, RC1su Workstations permit the swift collection of relevant process information and optimization of process parameters online. iControl (iC) software, together with the RTCal™ reactor technology for online heat flow measurement, allows instant collection of heat release data and control of desired process variables. Running the process under plant-like conditions requires comprehensive knowledge about mass and heat transfer, which are collected simultaneously.
Analytical tools, such as real time in situ measurement by ReactIR™ 45m or particle characterization by FBRM®, can be integrated seamlessly providing additional information on the composition of the reaction mixture.
The iC Software Suite integrates the entire experimental workflow making it simple to visualize, interpret and report data or to compare different experiments. A powerful thermostat and the latest reactor technology help define critical process parameters in real-time.
“More efficient tools, such as the RC1su Workstations, achieve significant, measurable and sustainable productivity increases in process development and scale-up and are key to making chemical processes commercially successful,” says Urs Groth, Marketing Communication Manager, Reaction Engineering, METTLER TOLEDO.
