New Thermo Scientific Sorvall Large Capacity Centrifuge System Showcased at INTERPHEX 2014
19 Mar 2014A new high-performance centrifuge system, featuring a high-capacity carbon fiber rotor, accelerates bioprocessing with higher volumes to reduce cycle times. Designed to improve productivity and ensure sample safety and integrity, the new Thermo Scientific Sorvall RC BIOS 10 large capacity centrifuge system is ideal for a range of cell culture and bioprocessing applications. Thermo Fisher Scientific will showcase these new solutions during INTERPHEX 2014, Jacob Javitz Convention Center, New York City, March 18-20, 2014, Booth #3544.
The centrifuge offers a new 10-liter capacity for batch bioprocessing with the Thermo Scientific Fiberlite F5-10x1000 LEX rotor, a durable non-corrosive carbon fiber rotor that reduces cycle times by spinning up to 10 1-liter Thermo Scientific Nalgene centrifuge bottles in a single run. Its capacity and design make it an ideal solution for numerous applications, including bacterial and mammalian cell pelleting, pelleting of cell cultures from fermentation tanks, large microbial cultures, biologics and vaccine production, clarifying broths and harvesting cell and tissue cultures.
Helping researchers increase their productivity
“Improving yields and reducing costs are critical for pharmaceutical, biotech and academic bioprocessing,” said Maurizio Merli, product director, centrifugation, Thermo Fisher. “The Thermo Scientific Sorvall RC BIOS 10 high-volume centrifuge helps researchers increase their productivity by providing an integrated bioprocessing system with significantly more capacity than traditional centrifuges, making it a frontrunner in the industry.”
Total process traceability for cGMP compliance
In addition to outstanding capacity and performance, combined with intuitive operation, the Sorvall RC BIOS 10 centrifuge can be used with Thermo Scientific Centri-Log software for total process traceability for cGMP compliance. The Centri-Log software provides paperless process tracking and effective quality control for the logging and monitoring of centrifugation processes, enabling lifecycle management of processed samples and equipment optimization.
