Labtronics Inc., a world leader in laboratory automation is pleased to announce the release of a new Nexxis ELN module for the collection of environmental samples.

Nexxis ELN uses ReDI™ technology to rapidly configure ELN worksheets. With the release of version 5.05, ReDI allows user to quickly create ELN worksheets specifically designed to collect samples from any location.

Of particular interest to customers is the ability to collect environmental samples from sterile locations. Nexxis ELN provides a complete system to provide this functionality. Nexxis ELN can operate on laptops, tablets and even portable phones such as the iPhone and Blackberry. Such devices can be selected so that they can be sterilized to be used in sterile conditions

An analyst uses their computing device, collects a sample, labels it with premade bar coded labels, enters the collection information, and then scans the sample with the computing device. All of the information is captured on ELN worksheets. Capturing complete information, including the bar code, ensures that no samples are mixed up between the site being monitored and the laboratory.

Automated integration of Nexxis ELN to a LIMS or to Nexxis iLAB will result in the samples being logged into these systems automatically. As soon as the sample is taken from the field, the lab knows about the sample. Automated transfer of sample information and assignment of tests reduces the work for the lab and eliminates transcription errors.

Nexxis ELN can also be used to create sample collection plans. These plans would describe specific collection locations and collections schedules. Nexxis ELN manages this information and notifies the right personnel when collections need to be made. This system ensures that sampling events are never missed.

Robert Pavlis, President of Labtronics commented "Labtronics is the leader in providing ELN solutions for QA/QC labs and the new sampling management capabilities will make it even easier for a lab to meet compliance requirements".
