One germ can spoil it all – new website on 180 °C hot air sterilization
3 Jun 2007As of June 1, 2007, BINDER GmbH is online with a new website. The world’s largest specialist company for simulation chambers used by Scientific and Industrial laboratories offers comprehensive information for the prevention and control of contamination in CO2-incubators. On this site, users have the opportunity of sharing in BINDER's expertise and many years of specialized know-how.
Microbial contamination, caused by bacteria, bacterial spores, viruses, mycetozoa, yeast or other microorganisms, frequently presents a major risk in cell culture experiments. Since this contamination does not necessarily occur together with the overgrowth of the cultivated cell type, it is often detected too late. In extreme cases, a single germ can destroy the work of weeks or months of intricate research effort.
Just with a few clicks, users can now obtain comprehensive information on BINDER’s 180 °C hot air sterilization method to eliminate contaminations effectively. The site contains useful links to world wide sterilization standards and a video on the BINDER CO2-incubators. A fancy 3D animation video will even follow this month.
BINDER implemented in its CO2-incubators CB and C 150 hot air sterilization at 180 °C. This method offers an easy overnight sterilization cycle, complies with all international guidelines and directives in pharmacopeias, from DIN to ADA. The customized design facilitates application and does not require replacement of expensive parts, such as filters, lamps, etc.
