Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science, today announced that, in response to customer demand, its Oxoid Quanti-Cult Plus QC microorganisms now include mean counts on the in-pack. This ensures that you have all the information you need conveniently to hand, while easily transferable labels ensure fast and accurate documentation.

Derived directly from ATCC® strains, each ready-to-use vial is just 3 passages from the original seed lot – well within pharmacopoeial requirements – ensuring reliable and consistent phenotypic characteristics.

Every Oxoid Quanti-Cult Plus pack contains 10 vials of preserved microorganisms, complete with predispensed rehydration fluid, and can be stored conveniently in the fridge (2–8°), both before rehydration and for up to 8 hours after rehydration. Individual vials deliver consistent counts of <100 CFU in 10 inocula of 0.1mL. This ensures reproducible results, eliminating the inaccuracies that are inherent in performing serial dilutions, and helps to standardize procedures among all staff.

By eliminating the bench work associated with serial dilutions and the maintenance of stock cultures, Oxoid Quanti-Cult Plus is not only accurate and reliable, but it is also time saving and cost effective. With no need for sharps and no need for freezer storage, this is a safe and convenient option for every laboratory. The comprehensive range includes 23 ATCC® strains and one NCTC strain.
