PerkinElmer Announces New Multilable Plate Reader with Laser Detection

PerkinElmer Inc., a global leader in Health Sciences and Photonics, today announced a new laser detection module to extend the functionality of its versatile EnVision™ Multilabel Plate Reader at LabAutomation 2007, in Palm Springs, California, booth #427.

The TRF LASER option, a compact nitrogen laser unit, provides considerably improved performance for homogeneous time-resolved fluorescence (TRF) assays – a standard platform utilized by academic, biotech and pharmaceutical laboratories for screening biochemical compounds in the drug discovery process.

Enhanced Detection, Less Reagent Consumption, Robust Assays
The EnVision TRF LASER delivers a very short excitation pulse without a tail, resulting in superior signal-to-background noise ratio for optimum Z’ values in homogenous TRF assays (such as LANCE® Ultra and DELFIA®). The higher signal/background ratio ensures robust, high-speed assays and requires less reagent consumption in the process, contributing to greater overall laboratory precision and efficiency. The TRF LASER module can be combined with any EnVision option configuration and is fully field-upgradeable.
