PerkinElmer Introduces New Improved Luminescence Assay Kits
17 Apr 2007PerkinElmer, Inc., a global leader in Health Sciences and Photonics, has developed two new luminescent gene reporter assays kits, steadylite plus™ and britelite™ plus, which deliver industry-leading speed and sensitivity in new conveniently-stored, odor-free formulations.
“The new steadylite plus and britelite plus offer high-throughput screening laboratories the same performance and reliability of our current luminescent reporter gene reagents, and are further proof of our continued commitment to developing our reagent tool box for GPCR research,” says Dr. Richard Eglen, vice president and general manager, Discovery & Research Reagents, for PerkinElmer Life and Analytical Sciences. “These new kits can be conveniently stored at refrigerated temperatures instead of freezer temperatures so they can be used right away without thawing and our odor-free reagents eliminate the need for working in hoods.”
steadylite plus and britelite plus are highly sensitive firefly luciferase reporter gene assay kits for the quantification of gene expression in cells. Cell-based assays, especially for high value GPCR targets, are increasingly critical to pharmaceutical drug discovery screening.
With its long-lasting signal, steadylite plus is designed for batch-processing systems. britelite plus is designed for continuous process systems. Both steadylite plus and britelite plus kits are suitable for high-density microplates such as 384- and 1536-well plates in high throughput environments. steadylite plus can also be used for smaller-scale sample analysis in 96-well plates when higher sensitivity is required.
PerkinElmer’s portfolio of luciferase-based assays with a broad dynamic range feature optimized reagents for highly specific HTS screens. In addition to reporter gene assays, PerkinElmer offers ATPlite™ cytotoxicity/cell proliferation assays and easylite™ kinase assays. steadylite plus and britelite plus assay kits are compatible with the leading luminescent detection instruments including PerkinElmer’s high-performance ViewLux™, EnVision™, Fusion™, and TopCount® readers.
