PerkinElmer Introduces New Universal ATR Accessory for Polarized Measurements in FT-IR
16 Sept 2008PerkinElmer® has announced a new Universal Attenuated Total Reflection (ATR) Polarization Accessory, designed to offer users the benefits of combining infrared spectroscopy with a polarizer. Polarized measurements provide additional information on the molecular structure of a sample, particularly the crystal or molecular orientation, and help in the accurate characterization of materials.
The new accessory is based on the existing PerkinElmer Universal ATR accessory and is particularly suited to applications such as crystal structure analysis, polymer and fiber orientation studies and structural analysis studies of biomolecules such as proteins. The variable angle polarizer can be removed for non-polarized measurements.
Additional benefits of the UATR accessory include automatic recognition and checking by Spectrum 100 or Spectrum 400 instruments and an easy-to-clean diamond top-plate.
