Pfeiffer Vacuum expands its total pressure measurement device program
The new devices are designed to be ideal for applications sensitive to magnetic fields
3 Aug 2020The new IKR and PKR gauges expand the existing ActiveLine series of total pressure measurement devices produced by Pfeiffer Vacuum. The new gauges are available as pure cold cathode gauges (IKR 360/361) and as Pirani cold cathode gauges (PKR 360/361). The IKRs cover the pressure range between 1·10-2 and 1·10-9 hPa. The PKR gauges allow atmospheric pressures of up to 1·10-9 hPa to be measured.
The patented design of the vacuum gauges minimizes the magnetic stray field substantially. This is an important advantage in applications where external magnetic fields would prove disruptive, such as mass spectrometry or electron microscopy. Expensive magnetic shielding is no longer required. Furthermore, the measurement chamber and the ignition tool are replaceable, thus guaranteeing easy maintenance.
The product life cycle of both gauges was substantially prolonged. On one hand, the novel double-chamber design keeps process-related pollutants away from the measurement chamber. On the other hand, the textured surface of the measurement chamber prevents measuring errors and lapses due to self-sputtering.
The vacuum gauges are available in a corrosive gas version as well as in low current and high current variants. This ensures optimal adaptation to the customer's process.
Two LEDs indicate the operational status. It can be seen at a glance, for example, whether the cold cathode gas discharge has ignited.
