RANDOX Announces New ESR Program on RIQAS

28 Jan 2015

Randox announces that an Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) program has been introduced to international EQA scheme RIQAS. ESR is a routinely run, non-specific clinical test to help diagnose conditions associated with acute and chronic inflammation, including infections, cancers and auto-immune diseases.

The new RIQAS program means clinical laboratories can assess their analytical performance in comparison with other labs, to improve analytical quality and detect errors, ensuring patient results are accurate.

With the RIQAS ESR program laboratories will receive two distinct samples, supplied quarterly ensuring accuracy across the clinical range.

• Liquid ready-to-use samples mean no preparation is required.
• Quarterly analysis and quick turnaround of reports (24-72 hours) means corrective action can be taken sooner, before next samples are analyzed.
• Comprehensive reports enable lab staff to assess performance at a glance.
• Samples are compatible for use with most instruments (excluding those using Capillary Photometry Technology).
• Laboratories on the RIQAS program have the option to register up to five instruments at no extra cost
• Results can be submitted by participants online via RIQAS.net

RIQAS is the largest international EQA scheme in the world, used by more than 30,000 laboratory participants in over 105 countries worldwide. Such a large peer group ensures an extensive database of results for many analytical methods, directly increasing statistical validity as a result.
