Roche Announces FDA Clearance for POC Glucose Monitoring Meter

Roche has announced that is has received clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Accu-Chek® Nano SmartView blood glucose monitoring system. The new meter offers improved functions such as customizable test reminders, pre and post-meal markers, and average glucose calculation.

The new Accu-Chek Nano meter is smaller than a credit card, has a large brilliant backlit display and is the first no-code meter in the Accu-Chek product family. The meter uses Accu-Chek® SmartView test strips and can now be calibrated to the respective test strips without coding or need for a code key. The product will be available to customers in the first half of 2012.
