Alpha Laboratories, Inc. now offer SpeciSafe®, secondary packaging containers which provide a safe, convenient and economical solution for UN3373 compliant mailing of biological and clinical specimens. The extensive range includes solutions for screw cap microtubes, vacuum blood collection tubes, cryovials, Universal and Bijou containers, plus swabs/transport tubes.

Newly added is a SpeciSafe pack to seal a single serum or pediatric blood tube in addition to the existing 3, 6 and 10 place packs. The single serum tube pack also includes a unique tube stand to secure it for opening on the bench.

The SpeciSafe packs provide a shock resistant protective casing for primary containers ensuring compliance to UN3373 standards when used with 95kPa vials. The simple user- friendly one piece package is quick and intuitive to use. It incorporates a unique ultra-absorbent gel block lining to soak up and retain any vial leakage, ensuring complete protection.

The clear plastic window means sample details and labels are visible and leakage can be detected prior to opening so appropriate precautions can be taken. The compliant flat pack design also reduces costs by minimizing postage charges.

SpeciSafe is available as a complete “turnkey” package including UN3373 labelled polyethylene and Mail Tuff padded mailing envelopes. These can even be customized and ready labelled with your logo, address, Royal Mail business reply reference etc.
