Sample preparation is a significant bottleneck in most laboratories whatever the size but now there is a new answer from Camlab Ltd. The Omni Prep™ homogenising station streamlines the sample preparation process and removes the time consuming and tedious manual steps.

Utilizing the proven rotor stator technology first invented in 1957, the Omni Prep™ is a six station system that combines high throughput with the elimination of cross contamination and is completely flexible for tube size, sample type and volume. It incorporates timer control, variable speed and variable vertical oscillation to minimise processing time and allowing it to handle almost any sample type.

Plastic probes, strong enough to be used from the softest sample through to historically difficult to homogenize tissues, can be attached to the system along with the more traditional stainless steel tips. The Omni Tip™ plastic probes are designed for single use to eliminate sample contamination but can be cleaned and re-used a few times if desired.

Camlab has already been successful in placing several of these revolutionary units into large Pharmaceutical companies and academic research units. They have been warmly received reducing sample preparation for one customer in particular from a day to only 30 minutes!

Always striving to bring new technology and products that are both affordable and efficient, Camlab has been working as a partner alongside Omni for over 15 years and has recently signed a further contract to partner Omni exclusively in the UK and Ireland. Camlab Ltd is an independent company based in Cambridge who has been trading as laboratory suppliers for over 50 years.

As a multi-supplier representative, Camlab is able to fulfill the equipment and consumable requirements around this technology. Camlab’s in-house technical support team is highly trained and experienced at dealing with special projects, modifications and custom engineering tasks. Customer advice and support is offered by phone or e-mail. Camlab has more than 35 years of experience in scientific instrumentation repair and runs its own team of internal and field service engineers to handle maintenance services, repairs and calibration.
