SANYO Biomedical and Environmental Solutions (SANYO), a division of SANYO North America Corporation, is excited to announce the Sterisonic™ GxP, MCO-19AIC(UVH) Cell Culture Incubator, the new standard of incubation technology. The new incubator uses the industry’s first rapid H2O2 sterilization system, an under three hour decontamination process that is the fastest method available, and combined with a number of other patented SANYO features makes the MCO-19AIC(UVH) the most complete sterilization system available, and the most complete cell culture solution.

“The MCO-19AIC(UVH) offers the most advanced sterilization and decontamination system available in today’s market by limiting downtime to less than three hours when total chamber sterilization with verification is desired,” says Matt Siebert, Product and Sourcing Manager for SANYO Biomedical and Environmental Solutions.

Sterilization in Less than 3 Hours
Individual medical device manufacturing applications using H2O2 were recently granted 510(k) clearance by the FDA. The use of H2O2 sterilization in biological safety cabinets and barrier isolators is a popular alternative to ethylene oxide (EtO) as it is thought to be a safer, more efficient decontamination method. Widely used in the pharmaceutical industry and in aerospace research to sterilize satellites, H2O2 has been viewed as a logical and safe method for sterilization. The documented two-hour in situ H2O2 sequence puts the fully sterilized Sterisonic™ GxP available and ready for use quicker than any other incubator worldwide. EtO criteria outlined in ANSI/AAMI/ISO 14937 may be used as a validation guideline. All interior components and CO2 sampling loop are sterilized in situ with no need for removal or separate autoclaving.

The Most Complete Decontamination System Available
Patented Active Background Contamination Control™ fights contamination while cell culture protocols are in process, while the patented SafeCell™ UV system scrubs interior airflow to destroy airborne and humidity pan surface contaminants. Exclusive inCu saFe™ copper-enriched stainless steel interior surfaces assure constant germicidal protection, working in tandem with the H2O2 technology to provide the most sophisticated decontamination system available anywhere.

Applications for the SterisonicTM GxP
The SANYO Sterisonic™ GxP incubator is designed for a wide array of demanding and highly regulated applications in the biomedical, pharmaceutical, medical research and clinical laboratory. Representing years of research, development and component testing, the Sterisonic™ GxP incorporates a collective of mutually functional systems and design attributes to offer a holistic solution to cell culture protocols, from the most sophisticated to more familiar and conventional processes.

Other Standout Features Include:
-A full-scale control center via an intuitive pop-up menu, high resolution LCD for inputs, outputs and performance at-a-glance.
- SANYO proprietary single-beam, dual detector infrared (IR2) CO2 sensor to deliver precise CO2 control, quick recovery following door openings, auto sampling with no moving parts, continuous calibration, and an optional semi automatic one-point calibration system.
- Patented Direct Heat/Air™ conditioning system provides manages set point temperature through multiple, variable warming points under microprocessor control.
H2O2 Sterilization comes standard on the MCO-19AIC(UVH) model and as an optional accessory on the MCO-19AIC(UV). Unlike conventional models, unique features of the SANYO Sterisonic™ GxP incubator permit use of the H2O2 process in situ with complete safety, minimal impact on adjacent equipment or the environment, and relative speed to return the incubator to service delivering the best performance and value money can buy.
