Shimadzu has introduced its BioSpec-nano spectrophotometer. This new instrument quantifies simple and labeled nucleic acids. The BioSpec-nano is dedicated to research in genomics, molecular biology, agriculture, medical science and control of food quality.

In particular, Life Science researchers can conserve precious samples and obtain accurate and reproducible results. Just ultra small sample volumes of 1 µL to 2 µL are required. Special cuvettes are unnecessary. An optional rectangular cell is available for larger volumes.

Due to an automated precision drive mechanism for cleaning the sample position and the large analysis range, the BioSpec-nano offers the possibility of a simple and efficient RNA/DNA-quantification.

Simple and quick handling
The “drop-and-click” functionality simplifies analysis enormously. The sample just has to be dropped on the target, and by clicking the button the analysis starts. Measurement and cleaning are conducted by the instrument automatically. A sample measurement takes just three seconds.

Dedicated software allows simple and quick operation of the BioSpec-nano. All operating agents are placed user-friendly for an optimal work flow. The software also offers export of PDF- and CSV-documents.
