Previously supported by Mettler Toledo, the MiniBlock® product line is now manufactured and supplied by SiliCycle Inc. With this exceptional synthesis tool, combined with our unique expertise in purification, metal scavenging, catalysis and silica-supported reagents, chemists can quickly screen for optimal reaction conditions and optimize critical process parameters.

The SiliCycle MiniBlock® platform enables solution phase synthesis, solid phase & peptide synthesis, and parallel purification. The flexibility of its design allows chemists to rapidly configure this compact parallel reactor to fit the needs of their chemistry, whether it requires inert conditions, refluxing or cooling. SiliCycle MiniBlock® also offers fast bottom filtration without having to invert or disassemble the reactor.

Rapid purification and filtration can be achieved by stacking two SiliCycle MiniBlocks® and using SPE techniques to remove excess reagents, side-products, catalysts and metals. Taking advantage of SiliCycle’s exceptionally broad portfolio of scavengers, for both metallic and organic impurities, chemists can perform synthesis and purification on a single platform.

Moreover, thanks to its microtiter plate footprint, collection can be made in racks that are compatible with commercially available parallel evaporation systems. This feature eliminates the need for transferring from the reaction flasks to the evaporation vessels, a time-consuming step that can lead to loss of yield.

The flexibility of the SilICycle MiniBlock® is owed to its modular design. Users can quickly configure a single reaction with individual vessels with sizes ranging from 4 mL to 40 mL – all on a microtiter footprint. The number of vessels varies between 6 and 48, depending on the reaction volume needed.

Originally designed by chemists at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company to address a wide range of chemical methodologies, this tool is now available from SiliCycle, a worldwide leader in the development, the manufacturing and the commercialization of high value silica-based and specialty products for chromatography, analytical and organic chemistry.
