The asm Manager 3.1.0 from Hamilton Storage Technologies is an upgraded software package for its active sample manager (asm) systems. The modular asm systems store samples in an inert, temperature-controlled environment from ambient to -20˚C and are ideal for high-throughput life science applications including compound management.

The software update adds to existing functionality, offering a range of new visual displays and system alarm features that give the user more feedback along with alerts when conditions might compromise the stored samples.

In addition to monitoring air pressure and oxygen, the asm Manager 3.1.0 issues multiple alerts when power fails or when air pressure falls outside established limits, enabling the user to quickly correct storage conditions. New light indicators provide easily visible system status information, enabling system monitoring while performing other tasks. Additional password protection, which is configurable by the system administrator, has also been added to prevent unauthorized users from accessing system diagnostic tools. When a cherry-picking sample request is made, new run logic architecture in the software compiler increases the system’s reliability and efficiency during sample processing. In addition, a new progress bar reports job status and completion rates in real time.

“Our engineering team is continuously working to add functionality and reliability to our systems,” commented Matt Hamilton, vice president for Hamilton Storage Technologies. “We regularly seek feedback and input from our customers to ensure that our systems meet the ever-evolving market needs.” Existing systems can be upgraded to asm Manager 3.1.0, which will be included in all new shipments.
