Anton Paar’s SVM 3000 viscometer allows for simultaneous determination of both dynamic viscosity and density as well as calculation of kinematic viscosity from just 2.5 mL of sample. As the density cell is integrated, the density measurement does not have to be carried out separately. One combined measuring cell covers the entire measuring range for viscosity, density and temperature and is filled in one go. Due to its measuring principle, the measurement duration is independent of the viscosity.

The cell can be filled and rinsed manually with a syringe or fully automatically in combination with a sample changer. With density predetermination and the “ultra-fast” measuring mode, up to 30 samples per hour can be measured.

SVM 3000 requires only low solvent and sample amounts, therefore saving the operator’s time and resources. SVM 3000 does not use a thermostat bath; it has a highly precise Peltier temperature control with stability of 0.005 °C. This makes temperature changes fast and very accurate. With heating rates of up to 15 °C per minute and cooling rates up to 10 °C per minute, SVM 3000 allows great flexibility when choosing the measuring temperature. The minimum temperature of -56 °C is reached by convenient use of an external circulation cooler. SVM 3000 also allows for temperature scans so that the behavior of the liquid over a wide temperature range can be determined. The maximum temperature is 105 °C.

SVM 3000 is also well suited for use in mobile labs and service vehicles as it is not sensitive to vibrations and has a small size. It requires only 0.25 m2 bench space.
