Symyx Solubility Benchtop System Available

Symyx Technologies, Inc. today announced availability of an automated system designed to prepare hundreds of samples for determining API (active pharmaceutical ingredient) solubility in different solutions.

The Symyx Benchtop System, winner of the Association for Laboratory Automation’s 2007 New Product Award, automates parallel processing of multiple steps of experimental procedures on one deck. The Solubility application integrates solid powder and liquid dispense on the same platform with weighing capabilities, supported by Symyx Software, for use in pharmaceutical research and development.

The Solubility Benchtop System comes with:

• miniaturized materials preparation capabilities (dispensing capabilities for low viscosity aqueous and organic solutions, viscous vehicles, and powder materials)
• sample processing capabilities (heating, cooling, mixing, and filtration)
• sample analysis capabilities (weights, pH, imaging)
• automated instrument control
• an upgrade path to an integrated workflow which aggregates analytical data from multiple instruments into a single database for visualization and analysis
