Tabula Muris: How to Achieve Direct and Controlled Comparison of Gene Expression
Join this expert webinar to find out how two distinct technical approaches were used to collect single-cell transcriptomic data from the Mus musculus model
4 Jul 2019In an upcoming SelectScience webinar, Spyros Darmanis, Cell Atlas Group Leader at the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub, will present a compendium of single-cell transcriptomic data from the model organism Mus musculus, which comprises more than 100,000 cells from 20 organs and tissues.
This exciting data will represent a new resource for cell biologists, revealing new insights into gene expression within poorly characterized cell populations. It will also enable the direct and controlled comparison of gene expression in cell types that are shared between tissues, such as T lymphocytes and endothelial cells.
REGISTER NOWWatch this webinar to learn about:
- Single-cell RNA-seq technologies and their application in a large-scale Cell Atlas project
- The advantages of combining shallow droplet methods with highly sensitive plate-based Smart-seq2
- How the latest liquid handling technologies enable cost-effective, miniaturized NGS workflows with flow-sorted cells
The live webinar takes place on Monday, July 15, 2019, at:
- 15:00 BST
- 10:00 EDT
- 07:00 PDT
- 16:00 CEST
Darmanis will reveal which two distinct technical approaches were used in collecting the data. He will also discuss how one approach, microfluidic droplet-based 3′-end counting, enabled the survey of thousands of cells at relatively low coverage, whereas the other, full-length transcript analysis (based on fluorescence-activated cell sorting) enabled the characterization of cell types with high sensitivity and coverage.
