The 9th Annual ELRIG Drug Discovery conference will highlight the latest scientific breakthroughs as well as innovative technologies and methods to overcome the challenges associated drug development.

Drug Discovery 2015, which takes place September 2nd-3rd, Telford, UK, will bring together more than 50 world-class speakers from academia and industry to discuss recent advances in basic and translational aspects of drug discovery, as well as the future opportunities for novel therapeutic discovery. Presenting companies include: Oxford University, Broad Institute of Harvard & MIT, Imperial College London, AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer Neusentis.

Plenary Lectures will be given by David Thomas, CEO of Traffick Therapeutiques, Inc, and Professor Tracy Hussell, Director of Immunology, Manchester Collaborative Centre for Inflammation Research. David Thomas’ lecture will cover new approaches to tackling protein trafficking and diseases, while Professor Hussell will discuss how working in an open innovation environment with the UK’s largest pharmaceutical companies enables her research into the development of new therapeutics for respiratory inflammation.

New Scientific Sessions

Conference Directors Peter Simpson (N8 Research Partnership), Del Trezise (Essen Biosciences) and Roberto Solari (Imperial College London), have planned a number of scientific sessions to take place over the course of the two days. Two new sessions being introduced this year will cover recent findings in the areas of gene therapy and biotherapeutics, and how these findings can be applied.
