Thermo Electron Corporation introduces new Konelab Arena System reagents for colorimetric and enzymatic analysis
17 Apr 2006Thermo Electron¡¯s Konelab Arena product range helps to increase the productivity and efficiency in various analytical testing, quality control and R&D laboratories.
Fully automated Konelab Arena photometric analyzers offer an optimum platform for applications used in wine, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, agricultural, and other chemical industries. Seven new, ready for use Konelab Arena System Reagents have now been launched covering the colorimetric and enzymatic measurement of Fructose, Glucose, Saccharose, Ethanol, Malic and Lactic acid. Supporting calibrators for each test are also available.
The kit structure includes 2-3 reagents in 20 ml vials. Maximum number of tests from one kit is 350. Each vial is bar coded and all the necessary data, like lot and expiry date, is automatically read when the vials are introduced to the system. The photometric measurement is based on the formation or consumption of NAD or NADH. Measurements are done at 340 nm in 37¡ÆC. Automated dilutions make it possible to apply methods for wide range of analyte concentrations.
Konelab Arena is available in four different models, Konelab Arena 60, 30, 20XT and 20, automating the work done in different sizes of laboratories. The special cuvette design enables small reagent volumes making the system economical to use. Konelab Arena has flexible software which allows, e.g. the use of different analyzing temperatures up to 50¢ªC. New methods can be set-up easily using several user definable parameters. The wavelength range covers filter configurations from 340 nm to 880 nm.
Konelab Arena analyzers offer efficiency and quality in a compact package. The system holds up to 45 reagents allowing the laboratories to run a wide range of methods randomly. Multiple analyses from a single sample make testing simple and effective. The basis for Konelab Arena product range is in our 30 years of experience in developing analyzers and fulfilling customers¡¯ high demands for reliability and quality. Up to 300 Konelab analyzers are today used in industrial laboratories.
