Thermo Fisher Scientific today introduced the Thermo Scientific DyLight 350 Fluorescent Dye for the direct labeling proteins and other biomolecules. The new dye, a derivative of aminomethylcoumarin acetate (AMCA), fluoresces blue, with excitation and emission wavelengths of 353 and 432 nm, respectively.

The UV-excitable DyLight® 350 Dye is better for multiplexing experiments with green fluorophores over AMCA. It is also more soluble, allowing for higher incorporation of the dye into biomolecules. Its exceptional resistance to photobleaching enables data collection under the most demanding conditions. The DyLight 350 Dye can be measured with common fluorescence instrumentation.

The DyLight 350 Dye is available as an amine-reactive ester or a sulfhydryl-reactive maleimide. Optimized DyLight 350 Antibody Labeling Kits are also available. The standard kit contains all necessary components to perform three individual labeling reactions using 1 mg of IgG or similar protein quantities. A microscale kit contains reagents to perform five separate labeling reactions using 100 micrograms of IgG.
