Thermo Fisher Scientific has a PCR plate to suit all major thermal cyclers

30 Jun 2008

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, believes it has a Thermo Scientific ABgene® PCR plate to fit every major thermal cycler available. This offers the same reliable, reproducible performance in PCR and QPCR applications no matter what cycler is used. Laboratories using multiple cyclers can obtain their plastic PCR consumables from a single, reliable source.

Manufactured in state-of-the-art facilities to the highest specifications, ABgene high quality PCR plates ensure optimal, reproducible results and are available in a variety of sizes and non-skirted/skirted options. The comprehensive range includes the non-skirted ABgene 96-well PCR Plate, which is a versatile standard plate compatible with all 0.2ml thermal cyclers currently available, and the semi-skirted ABgene 96-well PCR Plate, available with a raised rim or flat deck depending on sealing and handling requirements. Ideal for automated platforms, the fully skirted ABgene 96-well PCR Plate provides an even gripping surface, fitting commercially available thermal cyclers that require a skirted plate.

All ABgene PCR Plates are designed to enhance PCR/QPCR performance with thin-walled wells to ensure efficient heat transfer during PCR (ideal for standard or Fast PCR applications); highly polished interior surfaces for maximum sample recovery; clear wells for optimum visibility and light transmission; and a raised rim around each well to reduce cross-contamination and enhance plate sealing. Each plate also has alphanumeric grid referencing, including black lettering on certain models, for easy well identification.

Manufactured under clean room (class 100,000) conditions from virgin polypropylene to ensure uniformity, ABgene PCR plates undergo extensive quality control procedures to enable them to be certified free from endotoxins, DNases, RNases and human genomic DNA.
