Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, has introduced its Thermo Scientific TR-Green Injection Port Septa, which are individually molded for an exact fit in the GC inlet. The materials and process parameters used ensure a true low-bleed green septum and with an extended life-span, minimal coring and reduced stickiness decreases any chances of contamination and ensures optimized results are obtained.

Each batch of TR-Green Septa is subjected to a range of QC processes: a bleed test for low contamination; a stick test for low injection port adhesion; and a stable durometer test for consistent use. Designed to minimize contamination, a small CenterGuideā„¢ dimple directs the needle into the same spot every time. The formation of only one channel path greatly reduces the possibility of any coring from the disruption of contiguous needle channels. Furthermore, this dimple facilitates low bleeds as core production is minimal, removing the chance of them being pushed into the liner.

As a key component of sample introduction, the TR-Green Septa have a life span of hundreds of injections and maintain an air-tight, leak-free seal for an optimized GC performance. For further information, please follow the company article webpage link on the right hand side of the screen.
