Tip-based Automated Pipettor

Matrix Technologies’ newest instrument, the Hydra DT, is a 96/384 channel pipettor with disposable tips. This compact bench top pipettor automates many routine pipetting tasks with the single press of a button and easily fits inside standard biological hoods.

Perform both 96 and 384 format sample transfers with the Hydra DT, as well as applications such as plate-to-plate stamping, plate filling from reservoirs, plate replication, and 96 to 384 reformatting. Tip changes require only one hand and five pounds of force with Matrix’s extensive line of D.A.R.T. ^®s automation tips.

In addition, the optional Hydra^® eDrop combines contact and non-contact dispensing technologies into one instrument and provides high-speed 96 and 384 simultaneous transfers of microliter and submicroliter volumes. The Hydra utilizes syringe-based contact dispensing in 96 or 384 format to transfer volumes between 0.1uL-100uL, while the eDrop dispense technology transfers precious samples via non-contact dispensing with a minimum volume of 0.1uL; minimizing risk of evaporation. This combination is the ideal solution for protein crystallography plate preparation, forensic genotyping, 96 and 384-format low volume PCR, and serial dispensing for dose response curves.
