Applied Scintillation Technologies is offering a discounted price on its Levy Hill MkVI radiometer/photometer if a MkV version is traded in at the same time. The Levy Hill instruments are used for calibration of UV and visible light sources used for flaw and crack detection.

AST Sales & Commercial Director, Stuart Quinn, explained: “There is actually a double benefit if this trade-in offer is taken up. Not only is there a discounted price on the new instrument, but the MkVI
leaves the factory fully calibrated under the quality assurance requirements of BS5781/ISO 10012/1 (1992), additionally saving on the costs of a recalibration for the old MkV.”

“We ceased production of the MkV in 1995”, he continued, “and it is no longer commercially viable for us to support the old instrument.”

The Levy Hill MkVI is a hand-held, dual-action portable unit for quantitative measurement of UV or visible light intensity. It is used for UV lamp calibration and ambient light level measuring as part of fluorescent penetration inspection methods. The unit complies fully with British Standards BS EN ISO 3059:2001 (for UV operation) and BS667:1996 (for white light operation).
