We address opportunities and unmet needs in point of care diagnostics and carbohydrate-based therapeutics, with a focus in infectious disease. Every type of cell in our body has a unique sugar coating. Whenever anything such as bacteria or virus interacts with the body it needs to interact with this ‘sugar code.’ At Iceni Diagnostics we are developing ways to unlock this complex code to offer new ways to diagnose and treat disease. Our simple dipstick test has secured a key patent for its approach to detecting and distinguishing between human and avian flu. Iceni Diagnostics is developing a portfolio of in-house programs, as well as engaging in collaborative and contract R&D activities through engagement with the UK Biotech Sector, Government Research Organisations and academia. Capitalising on our expertise in carbohydrate and analytical chemistry, we are providing bespoke solutions in glycoscience R&D, nanoparticle technology and bioconjugation chemistry.
