Osteolabs GmbH is a spin-off from the GEOMAR Helmholtz Center for Ocean Research Kiel, with the idea of using trace elements in the human body to achieve previously unseen early detection of osteoporosis with the further aim of making therapy success measurable. The osteolabs team was deliberately interdisciplinary and heterogeneous and now consists of researchers, doctors, laboratory managers, entrepreneurs, as well as technology and finance experts. Its spectrum of know-how extends from physics to chemistry to medicine to medical technology, statistics, and business administration.
