Works well but has severe limitations

It doesn't show absorbance! It doesn't show absorbance! $500 for the damn thing and it doesn't show absorbance! Is it accurate? Yes. Is it easy to use? Yes. Can you calibrate it? NO! It has a built-in calibration curve. You put the tube in---it gives you a number. That's it. I never even dreamed you could buy a spectrophotometer that would NOT show absorbance. I tried to send it back to YSI and they refused to take it back. I will be much, much, MUCH more careful about buying YSI products in the future. If ever.
