The ActiPix™ Dissolution Imager utilises Paraytec’s award-winning patented ActiPix™ technology.
It contains a 9 mm x 7 mm UV imaging sensor, with up to 1.3 million 7 µm pixels used to record, interrogate and analyse a variety of complex processes. The wavelength can be selected to allow high sensitivity monitoring of the substance of interest. It is the first tool of its kind to offer accurate, quantitative and mechanistic information for a variety of applications.
It can be used as a flexible, multi-purpose tool for formulation development research, e.g. for modified release tablets. It could also be used to image the release of an active pharmaceutical ingredient from a tablet surface during dissolution, furthering mechanistic insights.
The ActiPix™ Dissolution Imager can be used for other applications such as monitoring the rate of diffusion of species through membranes as well as to provide fundamental information of amorphous to crystalline transformations. The ActiPix™ Dissolution Imager can be placed in a temperature controlled environment, for example to simulate physiological conditions.
