Mass Spectrometry Imaging
The system can be coupled to (high resolution or other) mass spectrometry analyzers of all major manufacturers, and we have most experience with Thermo orbitrap systems. We use it to do mass spectrometry imaging on histological sections form hospital human tissue banks. The source accepts histological tissue sections on all brands of microscope slides, which makes it useful in all continents of the planet. The source is rapidly interchangeable with the typical (nano)ESI sources MS systems are equipped with, and the fact that it is atmospheric pressure MALDI makes loading and unloading of a sample very efficient and rapid. Great value for money as the source turns any ESI system into a MALDI instrument, thus without the need to purchase a dedicated MALDI system.

The AP-MALDI(ng) UHR is available for all mass spectrometers currently supported by the regular AP-MALDI. The AP-MALDI(ng) UHR includes upgraded optics, source housing and eliminates the use of optical fiber which allow for a focused laser spot less than 10 micron in diameter.
Also, AP-MALDI(ng) UHR includes an upgraded laser – it is still a solid state Nd:YAG laser at 355 nm wavelength, but the output frequency is up to 10 kHz.
The end result is an Atmospheric Pressure MALDI system which can provide a user with excellent resolution at an unmatchable price.
